About About the place

The Alpin Center Bottrop is an indoor ski facility boasting a 640-meter slope, making it the longest in Europe. Opened in 2001, it caters to skiers and snowboarders of all levels, with a particular focus on beginners. The center frequently offers all-inclusive packages that combine lift access, equipment rental, food, and beverages. While the facility provides a convenient alternative to natural snow conditions, guests should be aware of potential crowding and varying snow quality. The center also features a restaurant and bar area.

Best for

Beginners, families, groups of friends, and those seeking a convenient and affordable indoor skiing experience. It's also suitable for pre-season practice and those unable to travel to mountain resorts.

Best season

The Alpin Center is open year-round, making it a viable option regardless of the season.

Best time to visit

Weekdays offer a more relaxed experience. Avoid Saturdays if possible. Weekdays are generally less crowded than weekends. Arriving early in the day can help avoid long queues.

Tips by Locals

Accessibility

The facility is generally accessible, with lift access to the slope. However, snowboarders may encounter a 50-meter walk uphill to reach the lift. The availability of specialized equipment for visitors with disabilities should be confirmed in advance.

Kid friendly

The Alpin Center is suitable for families, with ski lessons available for children. Stroller access is limited to certain areas. Changing facilities are available, but the overall environment can be busy and noisy.

Pet friendly

Pets are not allowed inside the facility.

Food facilities/restaurants/cafes

The Alpin Center features a restaurant offering a buffet-style meal with German cuisine such as sausages, schnitzel, and fries. A bar provides soft drinks, coffee, and a selection of beers. Seating can be limited during peak times.

Went to this famous restaurant and ordered the special. The food was tasteful and delicious. The preparation was exotic and well put together. The flavors were just amazing and the wine selection was great. Loved it here.

I was so hopeful when i visited this place but it was not a great experience. The whole trip was ruined from the beginning when I booked this place. They charged me extra, the service was really bad, the staff was rude and very non-friendly, the rooms were dirty and complaining, nothing happened. Overall, it was an awful experience and I am never visiting this place again.

While making our itinerary, we included this place towards the end and thought that incase we are behind time, we will skip it. But thank God, we didn’t because it was one of the greatest places to visit. Easily accessible, conveniently located, gorgeous location and the easy navigation for the entire tour of this place made it much more fun and enjoyable. I will suggest everyone to please visit this place.
