Pfaffenteich is a man-made lake situated on the northern edge of Schwerin's old town. Originally part of a power plant, it is now a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, offering a scenic promenade, restored buildings, and a peaceful atmosphere. The lake is surrounded by a well-maintained walkway, perfect for leisurely walks, and provides beautiful reflections of the city skyline. A small ferry service connects both sides of the lake for a nominal fee. The southern end of the lake transitions into the main pedestrian shopping area, offering a variety of cafes and restaurants.
