The Kröpeliner Tor is one of the four original city gates of Rostock, dating back to the 13th century with significant additions in the 15th century. Standing 54-55 meters high and featuring six stories, it is considered the largest and perhaps the most visually striking of the remaining gates. Today, it houses a small museum dedicated to Rostock's history. The gate is located at the western end of Kröpeliner Strasse, a major shopping street, and is adjacent to a section of the old city wall that extends through a nearby park, the Wallanlagen. Visitors appreciate its imposing presence and historical significance.
