The Jewish Cemetery in Hannover is a significant historical site, established in the 16th century. Despite its modest size – approximately 60 by 100 yards – the cemetery contains a wealth of cultural and religious heritage, evidenced by the numerous, often elaborate, gravestones inscribed in Hebrew. It serves as the burial place for notable figures such as Rabbi Izchak Zelig Caro, a prominent religious leader who served the community until 1755, and a son of Pne Yehoshua. Access to the cemetery can be challenging, requiring a key reportedly held by the nearby church office. While the site appears secluded, the gravestones are visible from the street.
