Boulangerie Poilâne is a celebrated bakery established in 1923, known for its commitment to traditional French baking techniques. The bakery is particularly famous for its large, round sourdough loaves, marked with a distinctive 'P', and its butter cookies, available in varying shades of baking. Poilâne supplies bread to many Parisian restaurants and has expanded to include additional locations, while maintaining its artisan approach. Guests can also enjoy light meals and sandwiches at locations adjacent to the bakery.
Foodies, bread enthusiasts, pastry lovers, and those seeking an authentic Parisian experience. It's also a good stop for those looking for high-quality ingredients to create a picnic.
Any time of year is suitable, but avoid peak tourist season (summer) for smaller crowds.
Weekdays are typically less busy than weekends. Early morning (right after opening) or mid-afternoon are generally less crowded.
The original bakery on Rue du Cherche-Midi is a small shop with limited space, which may present challenges for wheelchair users. The Marais location offers more space and is generally more accessible. Information regarding specific accessibility features is limited.
The bakery is generally kid-friendly, with appealing pastries. However, the small size of the original shop and potential crowds may make it difficult to navigate with strollers. There are no dedicated kid's areas or facilities.
Pets are generally not allowed inside the bakery.
The bakery itself primarily offers baked goods and coffee. Adjacent to some locations are small cafes offering light lunches, salads, soups, and open-faced sandwiches on Poilâne bread. Restrooms are available at the cafe locations.
We were so excited to visit this place but were thoroughly disappointed while reaching and looking at the mismanaged affair. The place was crowded with tourists and there was no system to arrange them. The staff was also very rude.
This is an excellent restaurant which is the new opening in the town and also the talk of the town. The delicacies prepared here are awesome and delicious. The chefs have all come from outside and serve the best of gourmet food. It was exotic and tasty array of food and I highly recommend this place to everyone. Just awesome!!
