The Musee National de la Republique Democratique du Congo has undergone significant transformation, with a new, modern facility opening in November 2019. The museum showcases a collection of Congolese crafts, artifacts, and examples of life throughout history. Exhibits cover traditional music instruments, colonial influences, and the legacy of figures like Mobutu Sese Seko. While not all of the museum's holdings are currently on display, with more exhibits being prepared, it provides a valuable introduction to the Democratic Republic of Congo's cultural identity. The grounds include an amphitheater and cemetery, and offer views of the Congo River.
