Samobor Castle, dating back to 1264, is a historical ruin situated on a hilltop overlooking the town of Samobor, Croatia. The castle is accessible via a hiking trail that varies in difficulty, with steeper sections and potentially muddy conditions. While the castle itself is largely dilapidated, it provides excellent views of the surrounding landscape and the town below. The hike is popular for its natural beauty, including fresh water springs and woodland scenery. It's easily reachable from Zagreb via public transportation, making it a convenient day trip.
This was a traditional B&B and was very warm and comfortable. The hosts were very welcoming and nice people. It is very conveniently located and is easy to find. The food from their kitchen was very homely and delicious and they made sure that we had a hearty breakfast. Overall a great experience and we are booking this place again.
This was such an interesting castle with beautiful architecture and detailing which is why it is the most iconic spot here and has so much history associated with it. We took the guided tour here and it was so nice to attain all the knowledge about the place from this very nice and friendly guide. Overall, we loved our visit and recommend everyone to visit this place.
