The Hongqilafu Mountain Boundary Marker designates the point where the borders of China and Pakistan converge. Situated in a high-altitude, mountainous region, the area is of strategic importance. Historically, visitors could approach the border relatively freely. However, increased security measures, reportedly in response to activity on the Pakistani side, have significantly restricted access. The Chinese checkpoint has been moved further down the mountain, preventing casual visitors from reaching the actual border. The journey to the checkpoint itself is noted for its scenic beauty.
