Pala Manor provides a glimpse into the lifestyle of a well-to-do Tibetan family before the Chinese takeover and the Cultural Revolution. The two-story structure is built around a central courtyard and adorned with colorful frescoes, with some original furniture remaining. A small museum on the grounds further details the history of the manor and the region. The surrounding grounds, while attractive, could benefit from additional upkeep. The site also includes remnants of what were once the living quarters of serfs, which some visitors find somber.
