Hanjiang River

Hanjiang River is a significant waterway in Chaozhou, historically serving as a vital transportation route for local residents and overseas Chinese. The river is most famous for the Guangji Bridge, an innovative structure built using boats as a floating bridge, a solution necessitated by the need for a bridge that could be opened for larger vessels. Today, the bridge offers a pedestrian walkway with a small entry fee, and the riverbanks, particularly Binjiang Gallery, provide pleasant views and a relaxing atmosphere. The river holds cultural importance, with stories of past pavilions and a surviving water buffalo statue adding to its historical charm.
