Monument of Tsar Kaloyan

The Monument of Tsar Kaloyan commemorates the medieval Bulgarian ruler Kaloyan, who reigned from 1197 to 1207. The 8-meter tall monument, erected in 2008, depicts Kaloyan as a warrior on horseback, symbolizing his military prowess and expansion of Bulgarian lands. Bronze reliefs at the base portray key moments from his reign, including the liberation of Varna in 1201. The monument is crafted from beautiful marble and situated within a pleasant garden park in Varna's city center. Nearby, a monument to Tsar Boris III can also be seen.
