Tsarska Bistritsa is a historical residence located near the Borovets ski resort, originally built as a hunting lodge for Tsar Ferdinand of Bulgaria. Later used by Tsar Boris III, it served as a summer retreat and winter ski lodge for the Bulgarian royal family. The property features a beautifully landscaped park, historical architecture, and notably, the first hydroelectric power plant in Bulgaria, which remains operational. While the main residence is often closed to the public due to royal visits, the grounds and power plant are accessible, offering a glimpse into Bulgaria's royal history and engineering achievements.
