Sniper Alley, officially Ulica Zmaja od Bosne, is a central boulevard in Sarajevo that gained notoriety during the Bosnian War (1992-1995). Due to its open layout and the presence of numerous high-rise buildings held by Serbian forces, it became a prime location for snipers targeting civilians. Hundreds lost their lives attempting to cross the street. Today, while rebuilt and bustling with activity, the buildings still bear visible scars from the conflict, serving as a stark reminder of the siege. Visiting is a sobering experience, particularly for those familiar with the history of the war. It's a significant site for understanding the hardships endured by the residents of Sarajevo.
