The Seventeenth Century Vauban Ramparts are a significant historical feature of Ypres, Belgium. Originally constructed for defense, these ramparts have been remarkably well-preserved and partially rebuilt after the devastation of World War I. Today, they provide a peaceful setting for walks with panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside. The ramparts connect key locations like the Menin Gate and Lille Gate, and feature various memorials, artworks, and points of interest such as the ice house and Ramparts Cemetery. They represent a blend of military history, natural beauty, and remembrance.
I always wanted to visit this city as it was on my bucket list and there is so much to see here that you really really fell in love with the culture, the buildings, the people and the food of this place. We took the tour package where the guide took us to all the main spots and apart from it, we were able to enjoy so much at the markets of the city and shopped so much stuff.
This park is amazing and has beautiful scenery. It is a perfect spot to take a good walk or even go for a run. There is a dedicated trail, well managed in the park. The trees by the trail are just beautiful and provide a lot of good air. There are also benches in the park where you can sit and relax.
Going through the streets of this vibrant marketplace, you get to see so much and can explore numerous places to shop or simply window shop. Try out the street delicacies and enjoy the street performances and simply indulge in the spirit and the vibe of this city by taking a walk through here.
Our journey to this place was nothing less than a magnificent memory. This is the most beautiful place I have visited and stayed. I have never experienced luxury like that and the hospitality was top notch. I am still so grateful for all the people who hosted us and took us on an incredible journey.
