Venus Battery

The Venus Gold Battery is a significant historical site in Charters Towers, Queensland, representing the region's rich gold mining past. Built in 1872, it served as the second ore crushing battery in the area and remained operational well into the 1970s. Today, it stands as the largest surviving battery relic in Australia and the oldest in Queensland.
