Arltunga Historical Reserve preserves the site of one of the first towns in Central Australia, established during a gold rush in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The reserve features restored buildings, mine shafts, and remnants of the original settlement, offering a glimpse into the lives of prospectors and pioneers. The visitor centre provides valuable context and historical information about the area's significance. The site is spread across a considerable area, requiring visitors to drive between points of interest. While accessible to 2WD vehicles, some sections of the road are unsealed and corrugated.
