About About the place

The Prince Alfred Bridge, located near Gundagai, New South Wales, is a significant example of 19th-century timber truss bridge construction. Originally carrying the Hume Highway over the Murrumbidgee flood plain, it was once the longest bridge in New South Wales before the construction of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. While currently closed to traffic and showing signs of disrepair, the bridge remains a visually striking landmark and a testament to the engineering capabilities of the era. Efforts are underway to explore potential restoration options, though funding remains a challenge. Visitors appreciate the bridge's historical significance and photographic opportunities.

Our journey to this place was nothing less than a magnificent memory. This is the most beautiful place I have visited and stayed. I have never experienced luxury like that and the hospitality was top notch. I am still so grateful for all the people who hosted us and took us on an incredible journey.

The market down to the bridge is really great and is the most liked place by all the tourists. It is the most happening place in the town and there are so many opportunities to shop here and have a good time. There are several local cafes and restaurants here as well where you can enjoy some delicious food. Really a nice place.

This is one of the most iconic and interesting buildings of the city where the architecture of this place speaks volume of its importance. It is a great place to visit and its tour throws some light on the history and working of this place.. We planned our trip around this city keeping in mind that we have to make a check of all the iconic landmarks of the city since this place is full of it and by the end of our trip, we were glad to have done it all. It was an amazing feeling of accomplishment and we had a lot of fun enjoying our tour.
